Japan may well be the most "westernized" of the Far Eastern countries as far as clothing goes, but it still has a very rich distinctive variety of its own worn frequently. Most recognizably Japanese are the Kimono and Yukata, but less obviously Zori (rubber or straw sandals) and Geta (wooden clogs) are also common.

Kyoto Craftsman House

A guest house that is actually part of a traditional Kimono factory. Not much online - but if you ever considered a uniquely cultural travel experience (at quite reasonable rates in a beautiful location), this would be an excellent place to start.
